STONEHENGE with YOGA
A WEEKEND EVENT exploring our SPIRITUAL ROOTS
Friday 15 March–Sunday 17 March 2024
With PRIVATE ACCESS to the STONEHENGE MONUMENT
The area that includes the Stonehenge monument has been a sacred landscape for many thousands of years, since long before Stonehenge itself was built. In this special weekend event we’ll look at the origins of yoga in the East and examine links with the neolithic era of spiritual building and ritual that took place in Britain and Europe. To help us understand the significance of these neolithic sites we have organised private access to the Stonehenge site, allowing us to personally experience and meditate on its extraordinary power and continuing relevance in today’s world.
Our base will be at Wyndham Hall in Amesbury. Our chef will prepare our meals here, we’ll do yoga and meditation, we’ll learn about the histories of yoga and Stonehenge – and early on Saturday morning a coach will take us to Stonehenge for our private access visit. Afterwards we’ll return to Wyndham Hall to enjoy an afternoon of kundalini yoga and meditation followed by an evening of live Kirtan. On Sunday morning we’ll reconvene at the Hall for Sadhana, followed by brunch.
THE PROGRAMME
Friday 15 March
4.00–6.00 pm: Arrive at Wyndham Hall in Amesbury for an introductory talk on the history of Stonehenge and the roots of yoga, followed by an evening meal.
Saturday 16 March
6.00 am: Coach leaves Wyndham Hall for Stonehenge, where our private access will allow us to directly experience and meditate on the energy of the monument. On-the-go breakfast snacks will be provided on the coach. If the weather permits, we’ll do a walking meditation to other sacred sites in the vicinity.
12.00 pm: Lunch at Wyndham Hall and a short rest, followed by an afternoon of kundalini yoga and meditation.
6.00 pm: Still at Wyndham Hall, we’ll enjoy an evening of Kirtan including live music from Omam Dawn. Evening meal will be provided.
Sunday 17 March
8.00 am: Sadhana morning practice at Wyndham Hall followed by brunch, with final departure at 1.00 pm.
An alternative shorter programme NOT INCLUDING the Stonehenge site visit is also available. Participants for this option will join the main programme at Wyndham Hall at 12.00 pm on Saturday 16 March for lunch and the remainder of the weekend’s activities.
